Lesson 3

Back to Square One - Eternity past

The origin of sin as to the 1st case in existence, as far as we know, from revelation is with the challenge of God's will by Satan.

Need to look at Ezk. 28:11-19 to get the picture!

Overview: Ezk. 28 the issues in view.

1. God created a being, superior to all others, designated that one,      "an anointed cherub"  as His                    .

2. Satan (not his name at this point; Lucifer, from Latin for light  bearer;  Isa 14:12 star of the morning; lit day star);  Satan, Lucifer,                 God's will!

3.  With the challenge and                   of God's will, we have the  entrance also of confusion and disorder. (multiple will)

4.   God responded to that rebellion!  He               Satan!

5.  God put man in the garden, in                environment, he was lacking in nothing; had a total grace provision!

6.  In the midst of that garden God put a                 .

- This was a tree designed to be a test, a test of                  .

7.  Satan came into the garden one day with an                      ; I would like to influence the thinking and therefore the actions of man.

8.  On the other hand YHWH came in the cool of the evening, taught Bible class;   providing them with what they needed to continually                       His will.

9.  We know from the account in Gen. 3 that they eventually responded to the             of Satan.

10.  Where or how can there be true unity? Simply if there is acceptance of a                       will!

Knowing your enemy - The Fall of Satan  Ezk 28:1-19

Ø      This passage breaks down into 2 parts; actually 2 prophecies.

1. vs:1-10 is addressed to the "leader" of Tyre.

2. vs:11-19 is addressed to the "king" of Tyre.

      Why the distinction?  What's the main difference here?

Principles related to Prophecy; Telescope Principle

1. Have something said about a person or about a person historically.

2. What is said is telescoped out to a future application to another person. (here it actually goes back)

Ezk. 28:11-19  What we need to know!

28:11  "the word of the Lord came to me saying,"  gives us the source of the prophecy;

28:12  "Son of man, (Ezk the prophet), take up a lamentation over the King of Tyre and say to him,..."

This prophecy vs:11-19 deals with the real power behind the ruler, the prince of Tyre.

"You had the seal of perfection,.."

We next are given some specific characteristics;

"full of wisdom"   (chokmah)  hmkx  basic to possess and skillful use facts.
