Lesson 26 August 4, 2002
Faith then must always have a valid object
Three
things a valid object of faith must be or have:
(1)
It must be ABLE
and FREE to save and provide for the one believing:
Heb.
7:25; James 4:12; James 1:21
(2)
(2) It must be AVAILABLE to save and provide
for the one believing:
Acts
17:26-27; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; 9:24; 13:5-6;
(3)
(3) It must be WILLING to save and to provide for the one believing:
John
3:16; Heb. 10:9-10; Phil. 2:6-8;
1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet.
3:9; Luke
19:10
Faith,
like the human mind, does not operate in a vacuum.
For
faith to be effective, it must consistently have a valid object
which includes the right content.
The
Holy Spirit never contradicts the Word which He Himself inspired.
Conclusions:
Faith
is personal with each individual
Biblical faith is not irrational, it is never
blind faith
