Lesson 13
Will you trust Me?”
The
Challenge of living the FAITH-REST LIFE
Review:
Future tense (Ph-3) Part of the blessed
hope
This is the
glorification phase where we are face to face with Him in a resurrection body
like Christ's.
- 1 Jn 3:2; 1 Cor
So the immediate context of
Phil 2 is dealing with salvation, looking at if from the aspect of its present
ongoing process, as we live our lives day by day after salvation.
- The concept is not to shake with fear; but the idea is to be nervous and trembling from a strong desire to do what is right.
Divine enablement for living phase 2, the
Christian life
What Paul is saying here is that God is the source of the power, the enablement to fulfill our responsibilities as believers.
*** REM: God never demands
anything of us w/o providing the means the power to execute fully those
demands.
"...both to will and to work for His good
pleasure.."
These result in the believer accomplishing "...His good pleasure..."
All volitional choices are then being molded by the will of God and the
resulting actions of the believer then take place out of obedience to God.
The only way we will KNOW
the WILL of God, or as Paul is saying here that our will and desires will be
the same as those of God is if we know the Word of God because it is through
His Word that we learn what He desires for us.
We must remember that the spiritual vitality, energy, and power in our
life as a believer is related to the ministry of God the Holy Spirit in the
life.
