Lesson #10  6/04/00

To Lead, to Protect, to Provide

Intro:

1. What is mature masculinity.

Senses the responsibility that he has; keen awareness of the     responsibility that he has to lead, to provide for and to protect     women.

Use Responsibility to stress the fact that masculinity is a God given trust; not a right for men to exercise for their own       self-exaltation or ego-satisfaction;

Need to ask the question!!

The Male has a responsibility to lead; but in what?

*** The first/foremost concept of leadership is to direct things to bring honor and glory to God.

Observations here:

  1. True leadership does not assume the authority or usurp the       authority of Christ over her; it rather is to encourage it.

  2. Is there a difference or distinction between leadership and       dictatorship?

Sidebar!

Distinctions between leadership, and dictator

     1. A dictator only considers one opinion, their own; don't ask           for input.

     2. Is a man's leadership oblivious to the needs and wants of a          woman?  Does leadership do that?

     3. One of the primary elements of mature leadership is the           sensitivity to opinion/input.

     4. Good leadership has the ability to draw out the strengths of           those being led.

     5. For the family, husband, wife and the children, he says we're a team and we are here on earth for one reason, To bring glory to God by doing His will.

2. What is the mature feminine woman's response to true leadership?

Ans: To affirm and to help that leadership move towards the established goals!

3. The mature masculine male is to provide:

Senses and assumes the responsibility to ensure the logistic provision for his wife and family.

4. How is the mature woman to respond to the provision?

She feels natural and glad to accept the caring strength, leadership and the provision from a worthy man.

5. The mature man is to protect: here we want to know what?

To protect her physically, spiritually and morally by protecting her character/reputation.

6. Her response then is to depend.

This speaks of expectation on her part.

**  In these characteristics we find the basis for God honoring      relationships and for the foundation of a solid male - female relationship at any level.

We will only reach our max potential in our relationships as we also maintain our spiritual relationship with God through Christ.
